Program Details
Grand Canyon Backpacking Trip - $650.00

Hike in the beautiful Grand Canyon National Park over Thanksgiving Break! Enjoy 4 nights and 5 days deep within the walls of America’s largest canyon. The Grand Canyon is located entirely in northern Arizona; the park encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. You will be hiking in a desert climate, where water and protection from the elements make the difference between life and death. The hike begins at a high elevation (7000-8000 feet) and requires a beautiful and exposed descent at the beginning of your trip, when your pack is heaviest. This trip is suitable for beginners, but participants are expected to carry everything they will need for four days in their backpacks as they hike in and out of the canyon. Hiking Boots! A full equipment list will be provided at the time of the pre-trip meeting, but having a pair of good quality hiking boots that are broken in is extremely important. It is never too early to start breaking in your boots. These are not provided, so please make sure you have these well in advance. Please contact your trip leaders if you have any questions. What We Provide: • Transportation • Trail Permits • Food in the backcountry • Transportation insurance • Backpacking equipment • Trained instructors
